1- Clean the skin

Milk contains lactic acid, an alpha hydroxy acid (AHA) component that is included in many skincare products, especially products that fight the signs of aging, as it helps remove dead skin cells and stimulate the growth of new cells.

But there is not enough evidence that milk helps clean the face better than soap and water.

To obtain an effective result in cleaning the skin using milk, Indian lentils can be added to it and put in a blender to make a dough. The mixture is placed on the face for 10 minutes, then the face is rubbed for 4 to 5 minutes, then rinsed. 

2- Skin whitening

Milk is used in many skin-lightening treatments and creams to treat dark spots, thanks to its lactic acid content.

There is not enough evidence about the effectiveness of milk or lactic acid in skin lightening, but some ingredients can be added to it to increase its effectiveness in lightening the skin.

Mix 5 to 6 almonds with 5 to 6 dates, soak the mixture in milk for an hour, then mix the ingredients together in an electric mixer and apply the mixture to the face and neck for 15 to 20 minutes.

After that, wet the face with water and rub the face with the mixture again for 2 to 3 minutes, and rinse the face well.

3- Acne treatment

A lack of vitamin D in the body is associated with the appearance of acne, and because milk contains vitamin D, it may help relieve acne and reduce its appearance temporarily.

But be careful not to apply milk to acne, as it may cause clogged pores or irritate the acne-prone area in the long run.

4- Moisturizing the skin

The skin tends to lose its moisture as a result of weather factors, and it is necessary to maintain the skin's moisture and prevent it from drying out.

Milk can be used to moisturize the skin, after adding some other ingredients to it, such as honey and rose water. This mixture helps moisturize the skin.

5- Peeling the skin

Milk may help exfoliate the skin because it contains lactic acid, which is a gentle exfoliator and helps improve cell turnover and remove dead skin.

Lactic acid is a form of alpha hydroxy acid (AHA), the same ingredient in chemical peels. Alpha Hydroxy Acids reduce wrinkles and strengthen collagen while generally smoothing skin without causing irritation.

To use milk to exfoliate the skin, cotton is soaked in milk and wiped the face and neck with it. 

6- Treating sunburn

Applying cold milk to the face may help draw heat from the layers of the skin after prolonged exposure to the sun.

But there are no clinical studies that support the use of milk as a treatment for inflammation or sunburn, and the best thing is to protect the skin from sun damage by using sunscreen. 

7- Unify skin tone

Milk can help unify the skin tone because it contains lactic acid, and it also promotes the secretion of tyrosine, the melanin hormone responsible for skin color.

To get the best results, mix the milk with a little lemon juice and rose water, put the mixture on the skin for 15 minutes, then rinse it with normal water for dry skin and lukewarm water for oily skin.
